Meet The Instructors
Brian Utting founded the Brian Utting School of Massage (BUSM) in Seattle, in 1982. He developed and refined the curriculum at BUSM, and was the school's Director Education, teaching there for 26 years. Brian taught many subjects, including Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology, Pathology and Contraindications, Business Skills, Communication Skills, Hydrotherapy, and Massage Theory and Practice. His 1000-hour COMTA-accredited school was considered one the the best in the country. Brian also served as the school's Director for 22 of its 26 years. Brian teaches with a rare blend of knowledge, passion, precision, humor, common sense, and depth. He was awarded the AMTA's Robert N. Calvert Award for Lifetime Achievement in April of 2009. Dean Marson is a Senior Instructor of Esalen© massage at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, where he has lived and worked for over 25 years. He has been instrumental in expanding and teaching Esalen Massage around the world. Dean has trained in an eclectic variety of bodywork styles and somatic disciplines. He is also a Registered Yoga Teacher who combines a variety of Yoga styles with a background in movement and touch into a unique approach to self care. Linda Greene is a Licensed Esthetician in California. She trained in Facial Fitness Massage with Dr. George Campbell in the 1980's, when he was in his 80's and long-since retired. Linda was his final, private student and maintained a relationship with this legendary innovator until his death. She has been training estheticians and massage practitioners in his unrivaled technique for over 20 years.
Sheila Morris began practicing massage in 1996. By 1998, her love of sharing the benefits of massage led her to begin teaching and mentoring students. She developed curricula in Facial Fitness Massage, sports and injury treatment, hot stone massage, and Ethics, as well as taught at two massage schools. She has worked on the Seattle Sounders Pro Soccer Team and the Pierce County Bengals semi-pro football team. She has also volunteered at numerous events including Ironman Canada. Specialties include Sports Massage, Esalen© Certification, Facial Fitness Certification, Medical Qi Gong Practitioner, Muscle Release Technique, Acutonics, Integrative Body Movement, & Thai Massage.For Sheila, massage therapy has opened an amazing world of personal healing from old injury, as well as changing people’s lives through relief from chronic pain. She is thrilled to be able to offer Peak Performance Massage at her own Passages Retreat Center. Trained as a scientist, she translates this background to craftsmanship and spirit in each massage. Susan Wadden , MS, L.Ac. holds her B.S. degree in Preventative Medicine from the University of MA, Amherst and her M.S. degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from Bastyr University, Seattle, WA. She has lived in South America, working as a maternal and child health care specialist for the Peace Corps. Her Luxury Wellness clients are treated at her North Seattle location. She teaches locally and nationally.
